Gingerbread men - perfect for Christmas! So easy to make and they taste great!

Our Gingerbread Biscuit Cutter Set is just what you need for this recipe!

Try using raisins, smarties or chocolate drops to decorate.

 

INGREDIENTS:

Makes 15-25 depending on size

  • 350g/12oz plain flour, plus extra for rolling out
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 125g/4½oz butter
  • 175g/6oz light soft brown sugar
  • 1 free-range egg
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup

 

METHOD:

  1. Put the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon into a bowl and mix together. Add the butter and sugar and using your fingertips mix together until it looks like breadcrumbs.
  2. Add the syrup and egg and mix until it forms a firm pastry mix.

  3. Using the rolling pin, roll out the pastry to about 5mm thick. Use our gingerbread biscuit cutter set to cut out the shapes.
  4. Place the gingerbread men on a greased or non-stick baking tray.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden-brown.

    6. Enjoy :)
